We are pleased to announce that the 2013  Scholarship Quilt  has been completed and raffle tickets are now being sold.

Invest in our students and take a chance on winning this one-of-a-kind beauty that has been stitched by several scholarship board members. 

Tickets are sold at the Retired Teachers (CalRTA Div 58) monthly luncheons and will be available at the Scholarship Awards Luncheon on May 30 when the winning ticket will be drawn.

The winner of the 2013 Scholarship Quilt is retired teacher, Wilma Pedley. Congratulations, Wilma!

The 2013 scholarship quilt is coming together very nicely.  Quilters have been busily piecing individual blocks and met on November 5th to sew the blocks into a beautiful quilt top.  Plans are in the works for the quilting and finishing.  Quilt raffle tickets will be on sale after the first of the year – all proceeds will go directly towards the 2013 scholarships. 

All interested high school students are encouraged to submit a design for the West Contra Costa Retired Educators Fund Logo Contest. Information has been sent to high school art and computer teachers.  The award winning logo will be used on promotional materials and outreach to potential scholarship applicants.  Entries are due December 14th.  Click here for the logo contest flyer. – CASH PRIZES –

Twenty-three graduating seniors and their guests were honored at the May 31st Scholarship Awards Luncheon, complete with magic tricks by scholarship awardee, Nathaniel Segal.   Students were introduced and each spoke for a few minutes, sharing a little about themselves and their goals and aspirations and college destinations.  We wish this remarkable group of young people all the best.  Click here for the list of students.

Congratulations to Judy Chandler, winner of the 2012 Scholarship Quilt.  The drawing was held at the conclusion of the Scholarship Luncheon on May 31.  The quilters are busy planning for the 2013 quilt, and raffle tickets will be available as soon as it is stitched – stay tuned for details.

The WCCRE Scholarship Fund Board is pleased to announce that 23 graduating WCCUSD seniors will be receiving $1,500 scholarships.  The students will be honored at the Division 58 luncheon on May 31st.  Click here to see the list of students awarded scholarships.  Congratulations to all! 

Congratulations to Marilyn O’Brian, El Cerrito High School retiree.  Marilyn won the Grand Prize Hawaii trip at the April 5th Division 58 luncheon.  There were many more prizes won.  Click here to see the list.  And thank you to all who entered the raffle.  You are all winners!

Good News!  Raffle tickets have been mailed to all present and retired WCCUSD employees.  The general public is invited and encouraged to participate as well.

The drawing will be held April 5, 2012 at the CalRTA Division 58 luncheon meeting.
