The highlight of the year, the Scholarship Luncheon on May 28th, was a resounding success. The room was filled with students, their families, and guests, along with Div. 58 members. The event showcased the awardees as they introduced themselves and shared their educational goals and future aspirations, as well as the rewards of all who generously volunteered and donated to support these young people as they begin college life. Thank you to all for your continued efforts. Congratulations to these 28 outstanding WCCUSD seniors who are now counted among the 515 students who have received scholarships since the first award was given in 1977. We wish them all the best with their college experience. Click here for the list of students and click here to see the awards program.
The 2015 Scholarship Quilt was raffled at the end of the luncheon and long-time Div. 58 member and volunteer, Rosemary Blaylock, was the lucky winner. Rosemary was a kindergarten teacher at Madera for over 20 years and also taught at Bayview, Ford, and Cortez.
