2022 Scholarship Applications

Scholarship applications for seniors in the Class of 2022 are now available. The applications are due to your School Site Scholarship Coordinator and your school’s Scholarship Board Liaison by FRIDAY, MARCH 18, 2022. Click here for all of the details on how to apply for the 2022 awards.

Note to all seniors – over the years, 725 graduates from the schools that you attend have been awarded scholarships. Do not miss out on this opportunity.

2022 Scholarship Raffle Quilt “WORKING TOGETHER”

We are COVID ticketless again this year.

The “Working Together” quilt raffle will be held at the June CalRTA Division 58 meeting.

If you would like to purchase quilt raffle tickets, you may send a check ($1.00 for each ticket) payable to WCCRESF by May 31st to Janet Smith, 1728 Walnut Street, El Cerrito, 94530. Include your name, phone number or email on the check OR use the Donate Now button on this website. Using the PayPal or Credit Card button, make a note in the special instructions section that the donation is for the quilt raffle. For each $1.00 donated, one randomly numbered entry will be submitted in your name to the raffle. Thank you to Janet Smith and her team for creating another beautiful quilt for student scholarships.

Celebrating $1,000,000 in Scholarship Awards

CalRTA Division #58 is very proud to announce that we have reached the $1,000,000+ mark in scholarships awarded over the past 45 years.  

Through the kindness of our teachers, donors, and volunteers, the scholarship fund has been able award 725 scholarships to WCCUSD graduating seniors. The 2021 awards were $2,000 for each student.

2021 Scholarships – 38 Students and $76,000 Awarded

This year’s award ceremony will be held virtually at the Div. #58 monthly meeting on June 3.  Scholarship recipients are submitting videos so that the membership can have an opportunity to “meet” them.  Click here for the program. 2020 Scholarship Awards

Our scheduled awards luncheon had to be canceled, but despite the fact that the celebration of the current scholarship awardees takes place against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, the amazing achievements of our 2020 scholarship awardees cannot be dimmed. The academic success and the leadership skills this group has demonstrated is an excellent predictor of the roles they will play in the future of our community, our country, and the world. We congratulate you!

Important Information Regarding the 2020 Scholarship Application Due Date and Instructions for Submitting

Due to the coronavirus concerns and school closures, the scholarship application timeline has been changed. Applications are now due to your school’s scholarship coordinator on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15 by EMAIL. All college-bound graduating seniors are encouraged to apply. Click here for application details. Please read instructions carefully as there are a few changes.

2020 Scholarship Quilt

Tickets for the 2020 Scholarship Quilt are now on sale!

“SCHOOL COLORS” The lucky ticket will be drawn at the June 11, 2020 Division 58 meeting.

This Scholarship Quilt is the ninth quilt to benefit the Retired Educators Scholarship Fund. It represents all of the district high school colors. The quilt pattern is a starburst to represent the seniors who will be reaching out into the community and beyond after they graduate.

The quilt top was made by Division 58 members, Sandy Price, Jane Toro, and Janet Smith, and friends Barbara Gaffield, Joan Ellis and Tess.

Tickets are 6 for $5.00 and are sold at the WCCUSD Retired Teachers (CalRTA Div 58) monthly meetings. A quilt ticket request will be included in the 2020 Scholarship Raffle Ticket mailing. Tickets can also be requested by emailing wccrescholarshipfund@gmail.com.
